16.3.2010 - Telling the story

After a sumptuous dinner, we walked in the chilly evening cool to Cikgu Sang Sigar's house. The Cikgu was a very artistic guy. His house, or cottage stood out among the other houses in Buduk Nur, for its very European design and matching cool colour tones.

He also designed the church building, which now greets his view every morning. The good Cikgu even had morning glories adorning his fence. Great taste!

The Cikgu's generator set broke down. So we sat around a lamp and candles as we chatted and waited for Cikgu to tell the story of the Ba Kelalan revival.

This banner on the wall caught my attention. It says much about the Ba Kelalan folks... humble, gentle, and steadfast in their faith.

Cikgu brought along his brother Pak Musa for the night's story-telling session. Pak Musa was among the eye-witnesses of the miraculous manifestations in Ba Kelalan in 1986. He recounted his experiences with Pa Agong Bangau, and told us the amazing things that happened during that time. There were lights in the skies... miraculous transforming of water into flour, sugar and oil... food that did not run out feeding the masses... angels singing in the mountains along the way up Mount Murud. Well, believe it or not. Those stories were published in the mainstream newspapers, and till this day attracts thousands of Christians from all over the world to its annual International Revival Meeting.

We were so blessed.

Be on your guard! Make certain that you do not forget, as long as you live, what you have seen with your own eyes. Tell your children and your grandchildren.
